Located in Cheb, Czech Republic, Hall A at Panattoni Park Cheb South is a cutting-edge industrial warehouse designed to prioritise sustainability, operational efficiency, and occupant well-being. The project was built on a brownfield site, contributing to land revitalisation while ensuring minimal ecological impact.

The project faced two key challenges: 

  1. Brownfield Redevelopment: Transforming a former industrial site while ensuring environmental remediation and sustainability. 
  2. High-Efficiency Design: Constructing a facility that meets BREEAM Outstanding criteria while adhering to tight timelines and maintaining operational feasibility.

Solutions

To address these challenges, the following sustainable strategies were implemented: 

  • BREEAM Certification: The project adopted BREEAM International New Construction 2016 standards, achieving the highest rating for an industrial building worldwide. 
  • Energy Efficiency: Installation of LED lighting, passive design principles, and a rooftop PV system to reduce energy consumption. 
  • Health & Wellbeing: Implementation of high-quality indoor air control, extensive daylight access, and thermal comfort measures. 
  • Water Management: Rainwater harvesting systems and water-saving sanitary installations to minimise potable water consumption. 
  • Transport & Accessibility: Dedicated cycle paths, pedestrian crossings, and electric vehicle charging stations to promote sustainable transportation.
