The Peninsula London Built to Endure. Engineered to Perform.
Designing for Long-Term Resilience and Operational Efficiency
OVERVIEW
The Peninsula London, developed and operated by The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, demonstrates how long-term performance, resilience and sustainability can be embedded into ultra-luxury hospitality from the outset. Designed as a 100-year asset, the project integrates a fabric-first approach, efficient building systems and advanced controls to deliver measurable reductions in energy demand, operational cost and environmental impact.
Achieving BREEAM Excellent (72.75%) and operating at approximately 29% better than regulatory carbon benchmarks, the building reflects a coordinated, multidisciplinary delivery model focused on maintaining performance integrity from concept through to operation. Supported by verified, investor-grade data assurance from KPMG, the project sets a benchmark for future-ready hospitality assets that balance luxury, efficiency and long-term value.
