The BRE investigations of high-rise systems of 6-storeys and above aimed to:

1) Identify the various forms of cast-in-situ construction.

2) Assess the quality of workmanship and materials to provide information on the nature and extent of variability of construction.

3) Develop appropriate methods of inspection and appraisal.

This report describes the scope of the investigations and the findings in relation to cast-in-situ high-rise construction. Information on the form of construction of six licensed systems examined by BRE is given in Appendix A. These systems are: Allbetong, Laidlaw-Thornton, MWM, Prometo, Sectra and Wimpey No-Fines.
