YellowJacket: new mobile app

This summer we're launching a new YellowJacket mobile app to replace the current one. It's faster, works on any device with a web browser and there's nothing to download. 

Why are we making this change?

We're moving to a new web-based experience so we can deliver updates faster, improve reliability and create a more consistent experience across devices. 

Benefits: 

  • Works on any device: YellowJacket runs on any phone or tablet with a web browser, whatever the make, model or operating system. 
  • Improved usability: the user interface has been redesigned with a more modern look and feel, making the app easier and more intuitive to use. 
  • More reliable: when something goes wrong, we can find and fix it faster, so you spend less time waiting and more time on the job.  
  • Faster improvements: we can roll out updates more quickly, so fixes and improvements reach you sooner. 

New features: 

  • Reporting incidents on mobile: users can now report incidents directly from their mobile device, making it quicker and easier to raise incidents as they happen. 
  • Resolve actions immediately: action managers can now report and resolve an action in one form, making it easier to close it out immediately while on site. 
  • Delete newly created inspections: new inspections can now be deleted if the wrong question headers or details have been selected by mistake. 

What do you need to do?

For now: no action needed 

You can continue using the current app as normal 

Later this summer 

Once we've set a launch date, we'll show you how to switch to the new app 

In the future 

The existing app will be retired, and you'll need to switch to the new experience

FAQ

No. It opens in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it's there when you need it. 
Yes, for a while. The current app stays available for at least a month after the new one launches, so there's no rush. We'll retire it once everyone's had time to switch. 
We'll share the details closer to launch and give you time to make the switch. Your account carries over, so there's nothing to set up again.  
Yes, you'll be able to sign in with your existing YellowJacket details. 
Yes. It runs in your browser, so it works on any device with one.
