ActiveScore sponsors the BREEAM Awards for second year running

The Building Research Establishment (BRE) has today announced active travel accreditation system ActiveScore/ModeScore will sponsor the BREEAM Awards in 2025.

The Building Research Establishment (BRE) has today announced active travel accreditation system ActiveScore/ModeScore will sponsor the BREEAM Awards in 2025, marking its second year as the headline sponsor. This sponsorship will see ActiveScore/ModeScore’s methodologies being used in conjunction with BREEAM to judge the Transport category of next year’s Awards.

BREEAM, which is a core part of BRE’s work to improve the built environment, has been the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for planning projects, infrastructure and buildings for over 30 years.

The BREEAM Awards is an annual celebration recognising the projects and organisations that are leading the way with significant achievements in global sustainable building design, development and management.

We’re delighted to partner with BRE once again; their trailblazing sustainability work continues to inspire what we do at ModeScore and ActiveScore
– James Nash, Co-founder ActiveScore

Since 2017, ActiveScore has been assessing and certifying active travel facilities all over the world, and since March 2024, ModeScore has served as an expanded assessment to reduce real estate emissions by improving portfolios through clear, actionable advice.
ActiveScore’s second year of sponsorship of the BREEAM Awards will serve to ensure the recognition of healthy, liveable spaces, accounting for these values across the international built environment.

Jane Goddard, Chief Marketing Officer and Deputy CEO of BRE, said:

"The BREEAM Awards are always one of the highlights of our year, where we get to celebrate the best in sustainable design and construction. It’s a pleasure to have ActiveScore onboard once again to support with the awards as a leading accreditation provider setting a global standard for green transport solutions.

This partnership not only raises awareness of one of the world’s leading sustainability certification schemes, but it also shows a united front across the built environment as the sector continues to drive decarbonisation and improved standards.”

James Nash, Co-founder of ActiveScore said:

“We’re delighted to partner with BRE once again; their trailblazing sustainability work continues to inspire what we do at ModeScore and ActiveScore. The 2025 BREEAM Awards will be even more meaningful for us, as our assessment systems will be used jointly with BREEAM’s to evaluate the Transport category.”

“Transport emissions are the leading cause of air pollution and reducing them is our mission. I can’t wait to see the innovative ideas and projects in every award category tackling emissions head-on, making the built environment cleaner and greener for us all.”
