Inim Electronics utilises LPCB certification to access global markets
Overview
As a customer-centric organisation, Inim Electronics has used LPCB third-party certification to independently demonstrate that its products adhere with well-recognised standards.
About
Inim designs, manufactures and markets a comprehensive range of intrusion and fire detection systems and products for residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
Background
In recent years, Inim Electronics has noticed increased market demand for innovative fire safety solutions. To satisfy this demand and complement their existing range of intrusion and fire detection systems and products, Inim Electronics has invested heavily in research and development to design and manufacture an aspirating smoke detector.
There is a growing trend in the use of this technology worldwide, and these detectors have increasingly become required as part of the tender process for Inim Electronics’ clients, however the recently developed solution required third-party certification to support market penetration.
Solutions
Inim Electronics distributes their solutions to a range of global markets, including Europe and the Middle East, and Inim Electronics’ journey with LPCB, which began more than fifteen years ago, is centred around its customers. From commercial detectors to control and indicating equipment, Inim understands the benefits of using third-party certification to independently demonstrate to its customers that a solution will perform as expected.
The LPCB third-party certification process is thorough, and the LPCB mark is recognised and accepted worldwide. These were key factors in Inim Electronics’ decision to work with LPCB to certify their recent solution, the FA100 aspirating smoke detector. Enea Galiffa, R&D Manager at Inim Electronics, explains that "Inim chose to partner with LPCB because their certification mark is one of the most prominent and respected across that markets in which we operate. This collaboration continues to enhance our technical understanding, organisational credibility and market reach".
Following an extensive certification process, featuring testing and evaluation of the solution, and assessment and surveillance of Inim Electronics’ factory production control system, the FA100 aspirating smoke detector was successfully certified in May 2024.
The Inim Electronics team was able to visit the BRE Science Park to witness the testing procedures, and they were particularly impressed by the expertise of BRE’s colleagues, including the certification managers and technicians.
Benefits
Obtaining third-party certification for their recently developed aspirating smoke detector has helped Inim Electronics independently demonstrate its performance to their customers. The LPCB certification process has also supported Inim Electronics in their desire to maintain efficient development and manufacturing processes. Enea Galiffa finishes, "With the LPCB mark displayed on our products, and the supporting certification process behind this, we have been able to enter global markets with ease. Our products have been widely accepted across our customer’s tenders, significantly boosting our market presence".
