Reports BRE studies, begun in 1981, on the performance of timber framed houses. BRE found no risks of major defects but makes a number of recommendations on certain aspects such as wall ties, sheathing materials, breather papers, cavity barriers (against fire), vapour barriers, training for site staff and further research requirements. 50 pages.
