Gives a method to obtain the U-value of a ground floor from its area and perimeter. The method is consistent with the CIBSE Guide and is a more flexible alternative, particularly for irregularly shaped floors. A table generated by this method shows the thickness of insulation needed to achieve a U-value of 0.45 W/m2.K
