It has been possible for a long time to import supersulphate cement from the continent, and many important civil engineering and building work have made use of supersulphate cement concrete, in particular because of its good resistance to chemical attack. British brands of supersulphate cement are now becoming available, and, since it differs in many important respects from other cements, this Digest has been prepared to give guidance to the user.
Asbestos-cement sheets - there have occurred a few instances of asbestos-cement sheets warping and cracking within a very short time of fixing. This was due to carbonation of the unpainted surfaces and may be prevented by painting both surfaces.
