This Digest, which supersedes Digest nos. 2, 15 and 19, deals with the problem of sound insulation between dwellings both houses and flats. It discusses the problem of sound insulation and defines grades of insulation; and deals with the construction of party walls for sound insulation. Digest no. 89 (Part II) deals with sound insulation applied to floors. Both these Digests are principally concerned with new buildings, but the possibility of improving the insulation of existing houses is briefly considered.
