Overroofing: especially for large panel system dwellings (Scanned copy)
N.B. This pdf is a scanned copy of the original report, so is not as clear as pdfs created as such.
Thsi report discusses briefly the factors to be assessed by owners when considering remedial work for defective flat roofs on their housing stock. It sets out the options for repair and overroofing; it describes how owners and their advisers might proceed when deciding whether to repair a flat roof or to convert it into a pitched roof, and gives guidance on preparing a design brief. It reviews the various overroofing options available, such as increasing the slope of continuously supported 'flat' roofs, tiled timber roofs, metal sheeted roofs, and canopies, all of which may or may not incorporate thermal insulation. It also covers the need to consider future maintenance and the buildability of the chosen scheme and to liaise with occupants during the remedial work. Eleven case studies from England and Scotland are included.
