In order to make informed decisions on waste management policies it is necessary to be aware of what wastes are likely to arise, the waste management options available for those wastes, and the legal requirements for those options. Also, there is now greater emphasis on deciding waste management policy in terms of the best practicable environmental option. This paper discusses these issues in the context of construction and demolition wastes. 6 pages.
