Loads on roofs from snow drifting against vertical obstructions and in valleys
THIS PUBLICATION HAS BEEN ARCHIVED.

In addition to the loading conditions specified by the British Standard Code of practice for dead and imposed loads, BS 6399: Part 1: 1984 (formerly CP3: Chap V: Part 1), checks of structural designs for roofs for adequacy against high local snow loads are necessary where proposed roof shapes are likely to cause accumulations of drifted snow.
This Digest gives details of some cases where these extra loads may need to be considered. It is therefore complementary to BS 6399.
This Digest was withdrawn in May 1988 and replaced by Digest 332.
