Failure: Loss of adhesion: tiles to adhesive, adhesive to paint/plaster/render, paint/plaster/render to background. Plaster or plasterboard deteriorates when wetted, tiling subsequently bulges or becomes detached.
Defects: Unsuitable adhesive, adhesive incorrectly spread, tiling insufficiently tamped, fixing delay, surface incorrectly prepared or primed, substrate bond poor, lack of movement joints in large tiled areas.
