Granolithic concrete is probably the material most widely used for factory and other heavy duty floors. The premature failure of an industrial floor is a serious matter, due to the time required for any repairs. In this Digest the design and techniques recommended to obtain a good floor are described and some brief notes on maintenance are given.

Correction - page 2, under heading "Composition of the Finish", end of first paragraph should read "the volume of a 1 cwt. bag of cement being taken as 1 1/4 cubic feet".

Replaced by Digest 47 (2nd series).
