This Digest is concerned mainly with the varieties of sheet and tile floor finishes based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that are now available in this country. Some space is devoted to descriptions of the processes of manufacture as this will help towards a better understanding of the materials and explains, for example, why one particular form is made only in certain thicknesses. A short note is added on the in-situ plastic emulsion floor finishes based on polyvinyl acetate (PVA) and how they differ from PVC flooring.
