This is a report on a study by a BRE Working Party set up for the purpose of developing a research programme on energy in buildings. The emphasis is on a broad rather than a detailed analysis of buildings in the context of overall energy consumption, the relative effectiveness of various conservation technologies and an economic analysis of their cost-effectiveness.
