This leaflet describes the general structural details of Cast Rendered No-Fines house construction. The principal experimental features of this system are the casting, in one operation, of the external no-fines concrete walls, an external rendered coat and an internal plastering undercoat. This is performed by the use of shutters with two movable vertical steel sheets to divided them into three longitudinal compartments. The movable sheets are raised as the pouring proceeds to ensure intimate contact of the mixes in the wet state. The first floor and pitched roof are of traditional timber construction. This leaflet is a compilation of extracts from several sources. It does not encompass all variations and some construction details may vary from those given.
