Post-tensioning kits

We offer testing services for post-tensioning kits against ETAG 013. Post-tensioning kits are used in new construction, repair and strengthening of existing structures. They are generally found in concrete structures, but can be used with other structural material such as steel masonry and timber.

Case studies

 

Testing a working platform

This project involved the testing of a working platform to be used during house construction in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 12811. Tests conducted included

Assessment of structural design of MMC systems

We have assessed the structural design procedures of a number of modern methods of construction (MMC) systems as part of their application for BRE Global technical Approval.

 

Static load testing of a new composite floor system

This new flooring system using light steel components was tested to determine the degree of composite action between the steel and the concrete floor slab.

 

Testing of composite joints

This project involved testing of full sized steel/concrete composite joints to confirm their behaviour in fire following an explosion or an earthquake.

 

Testing the racking resistance of walls

We have recently tested the racking resistance of the walls of various off-site manufactured/MMC building systems. The data generated from the tests provides the system manufacturers with information they need in their semi-empirical approach to design against wind loading.
