What is SmartWaste?

SmartWaste is a cloud-based environmental and sustainability monitoring and reporting solution. Designed by BRE, SmartWaste supports the construction industry by providing insight on areas such as waste generation and management, site waste management plans, energy and water use, sustainable timber and material supply and carbon impacts from transport. This online software enables you to store and report each project’s data and information via a company SmartWaste account. Data can also be reported at business unit level which can be useful if your business is split into divisions that focus on certain activities or geographical regions.

What are the major benefits of using SmartWaste?

There are economic and environmental benefits delivered by SmartWaste. Our customers have seen significant financial benefits, including reduced landfill tax, reduced haulage and disposal costs, and reduced material costs from waste minimisation. SmartWaste supports our customer’s environmental, social and governance ambitions. It informs their net zero carbon strategies, their social impact and corporate social responsibility goals, while ensuring compliance with regulation and duty-of-care.

What types of business can use SmartWaste?

SmartWaste is successfully used by construction companies (including new build, refurbishment and demolition), property management, offsite manufacturing businesses, waste management companies, and social housing and local government.

How do I get a SmartWaste account?

Can SmartWaste support my business’ organisation structure?

Your projects can be connected directly to a group Company level or be linked to one or more tiers (such as business units, management units, geographies or disciplines) in-between. SmartWaste can be configured to reflect the way that you operate.
