Loss prevention standards
Loss prevention standards (LPSs) help to ensure the performance of security and fire safety products and services and are overseen by certification body LPCB.
The internationally respected suite of LPSs give confidence to manufacturers, specifiers, and end-users that fire safety products and services will work effectively. This includes measures to prevent and detect fires, fire alarms and fire suppression. The standards also cover security systems, providing confidence in the level of protection against risks such as break ins and terrorist attacks.

The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB)
The LPCB is a globally recognised third-party certification body. It is part of BRE and works with industry and insurers to set the loss prevention standards. It also offers third-party certification against the standards.
