Failure: chipboard sagging, buckling, loose or squeaking; loss of strength and stiffness due to wetting or high humidity
Defects: flooring grade board not used; boards not stored under correct conditions; no perimeter gaps for expansion; nogging, nailing and glueing inadequate; moisture resistant board not used in potentially wet or humid areas
