Problems arising from the use of high-alumina cement concrete in buildings have introduced the need for a simple means of identifying concrete made with high alumina cement. A chemical test, using relatively simple apparatus and procedures and requiring less than 10 minutes to complete, has therefore been developed to distinguish high-alumina cement concrete from other concretes.
