This Digest outlines the principles to be followed in designing the various sections of the single stack system in plumbing. accurate design is much more important here than with one pipe systems including vent pipes. Main pipes must be of the right size, branch connections must be carefully positioned on the stack and at least some of the fittings must be of a particular type, so as to ensure that a seal of at least 1 inch is retained and to avoid back pressure.
See also Addendum in Digest 96 (1957), which gives further options for fitting bath wastes.
