BRE has launched Home Quality Mark (HQM) V6 in Northern Ireland. Version 6 of HQM is an update in response to the recent changes to the Building Regulations in England, Scotland, and Wales and introduces the Northern Ireland standard for the first time. HQM Version 6 is now compatible with the relevant local energy performance calculation procedures, including SAP 10.
HQM provides a comprehensive, balanced, and accessible way to assess the quality and sustainability of a new home. It considers a wide range of factors, including energy, carbon, health & wellbeing, water, materials, waste, and more, creating high-quality, comfortable, and sustainable homes that meet the needs of homeowners, occupants, and investors. It enables housing developers to demonstrate their commitment to building homes which meet the environmental and performance standards expected by home buyers.
“We’re pleased to be releasing this update which ensures that HQM can be used across the whole of the UK – thank you HQM team for all your hard work.”
HQM Product Manager Tamsin McCabe.
