  • Project Information Management (PIM) Practitioner Certification

BIM Informed Professional (BIP) Certification is ideal for policymakers, advisors, students, lecturers and construction professionals, who are implementing the BIM Process and Individuals who may not work within an ISO 19650 environment.

It is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of the BIM process. This pathway to certification is knowledge based and does not require evidence of project experience.

Task Information Management (TIM) Practitioner Certification is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of the BIM process from a Appointed Party (Task Team) perspective. This pathway to certification requires a demonstration of your own knowledge, understanding and experience (where relevant), and is most appropriate for project-based construction professionals, e.g., Task Team Managers, who are involved in the application of BIM processes in an ISO 19650 environment.

Project Information Management (PIM) Practitioner Certification is recommended for those wishing to demonstrate their knowledge, capability, and experience of applying relevant processes and procedures on BIM projects, possibly for applicants with experience in a Lead Appointed Party’s function. This pathway to certification is most appropriate for project-based construction professionals who are involved in the application of BIM processes in an ISO 19650 environment.

BIM Informed Professional (BIP) Certification – You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the key principles relevant to multiple areas including:

  • Defining principal information requirements, whilst establishing an agreed set of project information standards and project information production methods and procedures.

Once the assessment form has been completed and returned, the assessment process takes approximately four to six weeks. You will then be provided with the auditor’s report and if any nonconformities are raised, you will have the opportunity to make one free resubmission to address them. If all scheme requirements are met, certification can be granted. You can make additional resubmissions if there are further nonconformities, but these will require payment of additional fees prior to assessment.

Certificates are valid for three years from initial issue, subject to completing 15 hours of BIM related CPD each year. After three years a recertification assessment will be required. On successful completion of recertification, a new certificate for the following three years will be issued.

You may apply for any combination of the three certification routes, providing the application requirements are met. Please contact us on the form below for a combined quotation.
