Two expert panels at University & Healthcare Estates & Innovation (UHEI)

This timely and highly relevant conference takes place in Birmingham, over two days, 27th-28th November. It will address a broad range of topical estates and facilities issues for healthcare and universities.

UHEI encourages estates directors from the NHS and universities to meet, collaborate & to share best practice and innovations. The standard of this event is high due to the calibre of delegates that it attracts, and the 2017 event received over 400 visitors from over 50 NHS Trusts and 40 universities. Andy Lewry from BRE is hosting two expert panels:

Value of Sustainability, 27th November

An expert panel will be discussing this important topic consisting of:

  • Fiona Daly, Sustainability Lead, NHS Improvement
  • Helena Tinker, Head of Environmental Sustainability, Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Mike Newton, Deputy Director of Finance, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Andy Lewry, BRE

The panel will discuss the key attributes of a ‘sustainable’ building, the role of the client, designer and the supply chain, and what you can do to maximise value and return over the life-cycle of the building.

The Performance Gap, 28th November

This panel consists of:

  • Trevor Payne, Director of Estates, University of Birmingham
  • Clive Wilson, Director of Estates & Facilities, University of Bradford
  • Paul Lynch, Head of Energy & Water Management, VINCI Facilities

Participants will examine the performance gap in buildings, its impact on value for various stakeholders, and what can be done to address the issue.
