The Sustainable Estates Forum (21st-22nd June, Heythrop Park Resort, Oxfordshire) is a cross-sector event designed specifically to meet the needs of those delivering and operating sustainable buildings and facilities.Â Itâ€™s a complimentary event if youâ€™re actively working on sustainable projects giving you access to speaker sessions, the opportunity to network with fellow professionals, and meet with some of the most innovative suppliers.
The seminars at the forum, supported by BREEAM, will discuss buildings, carbon and resource efficiency, the circular economy, as well as end user experiences in meeting sustainability targets with Manchester Metropolitan University, the UKâ€™s greenest university, and sustainable best practice in the NHS estate.
The BREEAM team will be on hand over the two days in the form of BREEAM UK New Construction scheme manager Charlotte Hardy, and Daniel Skidmore, a senior consultant from the BREEAM In-Use International team.
Back in March we launched the BREEAM UK New Construction (NC) 2018 scheme manual. At the event, weâ€™d be happy to give you an update on the changes that have been implemented in the UK NC 2018 technical manual. If youâ€™ve already had a chance to look over the scheme, then weâ€™d love to hear your feedback. Weâ€™re also happy to take any questions around BREEAM in general to help you feel better informed on what the scheme does and how it might benefit you.
For BREEAM In-Use International, Dan will be highlighting the online system that enables users to register existing non-domestic buildings, assess their sustainability and (through a licensed BREEAM In-Use Assessor) certify building performance. A dynamic scoring platform and reporting section allows the user to track and improve the performance of their building or a whole portfolio of buildings. Dan is particularly interested to understand how the scheme can add value and awareness to various stakeholders of existing buildings, including building owners, managers, investors, and tenants. We want to know what information would aid these stakeholders when making those important decisions they need to make every day. For example, when to undertake a refurbishment, or whether to rent a particular property.
