Opportunities for apprenticeships at BRE
The 2018 BRE Apprenticeship Scheme is open for applications. Read more about how to apply for an apprenticeship at BRE or, if you have questions about the BRE Apprenticeship Scheme, drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The BRE Apprenticeship Scheme was launched by the then Business Innovation and Skills Minister, Mark Prisk MP, in 2012 to help us recruit technicians for our specialised labs and unique test faciliies. In the first year, six apprentices joined us. The scheme has grown to now include 24 apprentices working across the group (16 in our test labs and others in IT, the on-site nursery and our finance department). We expect this to continue to expand in line with the targeted growth of our business in the years ahead.
The BRE Apprenticeship Scheme has been independently recognised by the official Government regulatory body NAS. In September 2014 we won the National Apprenticeship Scheme Best Large Newcomer Award for the East of England. In November 2014, BRE Group was selected as one of the top 100 employers of apprentices in the UK, placing us in the City & Guilds Top 100 Apprecenticeship Employers for 2014 alongside businesses such as British Airways, Virgin Media, Barclays Bank, Nestle and other globally recognised brands.
What our apprentices say:
Jamie Robertson – Apprentice Electrician
“Firstly, I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to undertake an electrical apprenticeship at BRE. There is a very diverse range of work, and this will give me good experience in all areas of electrical installation and maintenance. I’ve felt welcomed and looked after since the day I started, and this has given me confidence. I find BRE’s research in sustainability and innovation interesting, and I look forward to what the future holds. Although I work closely with the other electricians, we are all part of the estates team. As an estates team member, it is our job to ensure all buildings are correctly maintained, and we all do our best to achieve this.”
