BRE Academy offers up-skilling opportunity to meet forthcoming ESOS needs

ESOS (the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme) is a mandatory UK energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme covering organisations with a turnover of €50 million, or over 250 employees.

During 2015, organisations will need to carry out audits and submit reports for their buildings in order to comply with ESOS. This requires companies to have in place ISO 50001, or to carry out ESOS audits, Green Deal assessments or produce a Display Energy Certificate.

ESOS training to help you comply

The industry needs to ensure that key personnel (such as senior managers, as well as qualified Non-Domestic energy assessors, Non-Domestic Green Deal Assessors and Display Energy Assessors) who will be responsible for overseeing, managing and providing evidence in support of ESOS compliance are skilled in order to help organisations comply.

The BRE Academy – the specialist training division of BRE, has launched a new training course to meet these needs, Introduction to ESOS running for the first time in January.

This course offers delegates a chance to learn about the implications that ESOS brings for their business, and also provides guidance on how qualified energy professionals can be involved in providing ESOS compliance routes. Delegates will gain a broad understanding of what they need to do to ensure their organisation meets the requirements of this scheme.

The specialist trainers and course designers at BRE Academy have substantial expertise and experience in delivering energy education and training programmes, including ISO 50001, DEC and Green Deal Assessments, and will provide practical support and guidance in managing ESOS.

Pauline Traetto, Director of the BRE Academy is proud that the BRE Academy team are able to use considerable research and experience to develop and deliver this course “It’s really important to us that people who will be working with ESOS thoroughly understand what this means for organisations and professionals, Our new course will help professionals to up-skill and make a difference to their own careers and to the buildings they work on”
