BT Redcare’s alarm signalling products get LPCB approval

Note: This press release is over six months old and the details may have been superseded. Please contact the Press Office for the latest information.

Six alarm signalling products by BT Redcare have been successfully certified to the Loss Prevention Certification Board’s (LPCB) standard for alarm transmission systems LPS 1277 3.0. The standard is recognised by insurers and specifiers around the world as the primary mark of quality performance.

BRE Global’s Head of Fire Detection Martin Ganley said ‘Alarm transmission technology is a critical part of any alarm system – it guarantees that an alarm event is quickly and reliably transmitted to the alarm receiving centre for a prompt and appropriate human response. It’s vital that this technology  is robustly tested and certified to exacting standards. We are very pleased for BT Redcare’s success in getting their products through this tough approvals process’

Andy Fyvie, Head of Product, BT Redcare Fire & Security says ‘We’ve worked really hard to achieve this certification and I know that it will give the BT Redcare brand, already well known and respected in the market place even more credibility. It’s great news that insurers can now specify, installers can now install and users can gain peace of mind from products that meet the most rigorous standards.’

BT Redcare is the largest supplier of fire and security alarm signalling services in the UK. The products that have been successfully certified to LPS 1277 3.0 include:

  • Redcare GSM Roaming
  • Redcare Classic
  • Redcare Classic for Fire
  • Redcare Secure IP
  • Redcare Secure 3
  • Redcare Secure Solo

Richard Underwood, Technical Specialist – Security at Aviva commented, ‘Aviva recognises the benefits of using products and services that have been independently assessed. Companies that achieve LPCB approval to LPS 1277 3.0 demonstrate a clear commitment to providing quality ATS products and services and, given the importance of an ATS to the overall security and reliability of an intruder alarm system, such products represent our preferred option.’
